Tiger tracker turns to rhino poaching

Mark Tennant – one of the trackers who help find Panjo the tiger – has turned his attention to rhinos.

He collected a cheque for R65,000 on Friday raised by pupils at Alberton High School.

He said on Friday the money will be used in the fight against rhino poachers and that the children raised the cash by selling R20 raffle tickets.

“It just shows you how important this is because weve got young people who havent even finished school who are concerned there will be no rhino for them to watch or their children to watch,” he said.

Tennant and friend Ian Johnson were involved in the search for Panjo, the tiger that jumped out of his owners bakkie and spent two nights on the prowl.
